Winners of piano competition announced

COSHOCTON – The 30th annual Edward E. Montgomery Jr. Piano Competition was held Sunday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at the Triple Locks Theatre. Four finalists were selected to perform in the junior division and three finalists were selected for the senior division. Finalists in the junior division were Kiera McPeck, Brianna McConnell, Connor Stevens-Woolery, and Grace Cullison. Finalists in the senior division were Christa Lain, Logan Lawrence, and Rachel Roman. The winner in the junior division was Cullison who won $250 in cash from The Montgomery Foundation. Cullison performed Alla Tarantella, Op. 39 #2 by Edward MacDowell. She is the daughter of Gloria and Glenn Cullison and studied for seven years under the direction of Vickie Davis. The winner in the senior division was Lawrence who won $1,000 in cash from The Montgomery Foundation. Lawrence performed Ballade, Op 46 by Samuel Barber. He is the son of Angela and Joe Lawrence and studied piano for two years under the direction of Davis.
