Hiland downs Ridgewood girls

WEST LAFAYETTE – In girls soccer at West Lafayette, Sarah Menuez scored three goals as Hiland defeated Ridgewood 6-2.

Menuez’s first goal came at 29:17 in the first half.

Marissa Whitt tied the game at 27:46 on an assist from Kimi Pepping.

Hiland took the lead back less than a minute later (27:17) on a goal from Brandi Raber.

Julee Zinck make it 3-1 at 14:32. Menuez scored her second goal at 10:11 to make it 4-1 Lady Hawks at halftime.

Menuez completed the hat trick in the opening minute of the second half (39:13).

Ridgewood’s Breann Asbury scored at 32:21 cutting the lead to 5-2.

Michaela Kandel rouned out the scoring for Hiland at 14.03.

Hiland outshot Ridgewood 31-14

Karrie Bluck and Winter Preston split time in goal for RHS. Bluck had seven saves and Preston had five. Elizabeth Boyles had seven saves for Hiland.

In the JV game, Ridgewood tied Hiland 1-1 with Karrie Bluck scoring a goal for RHS.
