Local Bounty Update

| December 26, 2013

local bountyGood Morning LB Shoppers – We hope this finds you basking in holiday cheer. Here are a few updates from our vendors:

Hall – RB – Hill

Merry Christmas! This week I will have a limited supply of breads due to the holiday, stop by to get your focaccia! Wishing you all the best in the new year!

Keene Creek Farm

The wait is almost over. That’s right. We will have bacon, smoked loin chops, ham loaf and hot dogs back in stock this week (but not until sometime Friday – stay tuned to our facebook page for more exact ETA). Today we are going to a livestock auction in search of additions to the farm – a boar to breed our gilts and some more feeder pigs. We wish you all a happy continued holiday season…!

Mill Creek Homestead
This time next week, my family will be on an airplane somewhere between here and Zambia, Africa. That will be the beginning of our 4 month mission trip adventure to help Mission Flight Services who operate in support of Kalene Mission Hospital. Please keep us in your prayers. If you would like to follow us on our adventure, you can go to Josh’s blog or friend me on facebook (Kristi Adelsberger). The soap shelf is re-stocked and your favorite, Rosemary Mint, is back. I will also be trying to make extra granola in the next couple days but once that batch is gone, you’ll have to wait until next May for more. (So stock up now…it freezes great!)

Salad Bar Farm

Wow! The greens went over amazingly well last week. We hope you all enjoyed them. There is kale, Bak Choi, and more greens available this week.

Strawberry Hill Farm

Hope everyone had a happy Christmas day, and that your festivities continue into the New Year. Mary has baked more shortbread, and we’ll be bringing that to the store today. You might want to try some for your New Year’s Eve party. We’ll also bring several dozen free range eggs, more sweet potatoes, and plenty of strawberry jam. Happy 2014!

Wholesome Vally Farm

We have found a way to get out farm-fresh milk to Local Bounty again. It will be in the store today by noon. And, in the weeks to come, it will be available on Thursdays again (thanks to a local family who noticed the void and wanted to help in some way). We are also sending down more potatoes (chemical-free) and 100% pure maple syrup from our family’s farm.

Wishing you all a happy New Year!
