Wheeler charged with rape

 On Sept. 14, 2020 the Coshocton County Sheriff’s office was notified by job and family services of allegations of sexual abuse which began a very difficult investigation into these accusations.

On Sept. 24, 2020, the sheriff’s office formally charged Thomas E. Wheeler, a 73 year old male from the Coshocton area, with one count of rape, a felony of the first degree.

This arrest is the culmination of a very in-depth investigation by the special victim’s detective and job and family services. Additional charges are anticipated after the case is fully reviewed by Jason Given, Coshocton County Prosecutor.

Assisting detectives with this lengthy investigation are Coshocton Job and Family Services and the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
