Sherry Ann May
Sherry Ann May, 78, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away on May 23, 2025, at Morrison Hospice House in Zanesville.
Sherry was born in Coshocton County, Ohio on April 1, 1947, to Luther H. and Bessie C. (Wiggins) Prater. She graduated from Ridgewood High School and was a nurse at Family Physicians in Coshocton for twenty-one years and seven years with interim Health care.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette. Sherry treasured her time with her children and family.
Sherry is survived by her son Larry (Renee) Luke of Reynoldsburg, David May of Arnold, MD, Duane A May of Haslet, TX, Steven May of Austin, TX and Kelly (Jeff) Duvall of New Philadelphia; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; a brother Paul Prater of West Lafayette; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Troy Luke of Clearwater, FL and her husband Melvin May whom she married March 28, 1992. Troy Passed away in May of 2024 and Melvin “Mel” passed away in April of 2019.
Friends may call at The First Baptist Church of West Lafayette, 688 Main St, West Lafayette on Saturday May 31, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM where funeral services for Sherry will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ben Hartley officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church; envelopes will be available at the church.
