David C. McElhaney

David C. McElhaney, 93, of Coshocton passed away peacefully at home on Sunday March 31, 2024.

David was born in Lucasville, Ohio on March 30, 1931, to the late George and Merle (Ely) McElhaney.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Wilmington College and retired from River View local School District, where he was a teacher and administrator at Pleasant Valley Elementary.

David enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

David is survived by his sons Kenneth and Duane (Carol) McElhaney both of Coshocton; daughter Evelyn McElhaney of Columbus; grandchildren Dustin (Jessica), Joshua (Abby), Brian (Katie) McElhaney and his Special grandson Nicholas; five great grandchildren; one sister Artie Boldman.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Shelton) McElhaney, who passed in 2020; infant son, Ronald A. McElhaney.

Per David’s wishes a cremation will take place and services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Coshocton County Special Olympics, 23720 Airport Road, Coshocton, OH 43812.

The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Coshocton is serving the family.
