Gibbs statement on Water Infrastructure Bill Agreement
WASHINGTON, DC – Following the announcement of a bicameral agreement on the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN) Congressman Bob Gibbs, Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, released the following statement:
“I want to thank my colleagues in the House and Senate for working together to ensure the legislation containing WRDA 2016 stays true to the reforms we made in 2014. Maintaining and improving our nation’s inland waterways, ports, and harbors is critical to keeping the lanes of commerce open. Our economy depends on a safe and reliable water transportation network to move goods efficiently and this bill addresses projects to support it. I look forward to WRDA being brought to the floor for final passage.”
