Helen Marie Shearn
Helen Marie Shearn, age 88, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Roscoe Gardens in Coshocton. She was born January 24, 1937 to Russell and Christina (Johnson) Jennings in Adamsville, Ohio.
Upon graduation from Adamsville High School in 1955, Helen began her lifelong career as a traditional housewife and mother of four. In raising her children, she was said to be a very stubborn, yet loving, woman. She was also a devoted Christian, and therefore enjoyed attending church at Conesville Wesleyan Church and Tyndall United Methodist Church.
On May 26, 1956, she married her late husband, James G. Shearn. He passed away on July 4, 2001.
Helen loved to spend time outdoors, especially near a lake where she could fish. She also loved gardening, solving puzzles, reading mysteries, and canning food.
Helen is survived by her children, Cindy Fairall of Coshocton, Gary Shearn of West Lafayette, Terry Shearn of Mount Vernon, and Candy McCoy of Coshocton; her grandchildren, Bryan Shearn, Shane Shearn, Derrick Shearn, Clinton McCoy, Trudie Shearn, Jennifer McHenry, and Seth Travis; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Saxton, Chase McHenry, Alexa McHenry, Macy Shearn, Braydon Shearn, Meye Shearn, and Kingston Shearn; alongside two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings, Iona Dolick of Coshocton, Mary Lane of Coshocton, Phyllis Jennings of Zanesville, Barb Moran of Zanesville, Nancy Lane of Zanesville, Thomas Jennings of Coshocton, and Daniel Jennings of Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant daughter, Connie Shearn, her siblings, Ralph Jennings, Jimmy Jennings, William Jennings, Donald Jennings, Evelyn Fisher, Janice Jennings, and Kenneth Jennings, her sons-in-law, Ronnie Fairall and Timothy McCoy, and her daughter-in-law, Jodie Shearn.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Branch Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Wilson officiating. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home served the family.
