Martha Elizabeth Lattimer
Martha Elizabeth Lattimer, age 75, formerly of Hal-Kar Road, West Lafayette, OH joined her beloved husband Leonard at 6:50 A.M., Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield, OH following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born November 26, 1937 in Smithfield, Wetzel County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Esten and Flossie (Edwards) Ice.
A salutatorian high school graduate, Martha was employed as a waitress at Fluharty’s Restaurant in Smithfield where she fell in love with Leonard Lee Lattimer and the couple was married January 8, 1955. The couple enjoyed 53 years together until the death of Leonard on March 5, 2008.
A member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, Martha was active in forming the Sunday Coffee Hour. She and her husband participated in many church activities. Martha will be remembered for her cooking and baking abilities plus her love of gardening and flowers.
Martha will be truly missed by two sons Mitchell Lee (Barbara) Lattimer of Oak Ridge, TN, David Alan ( Elizabeth) Lattimer of Ontario, OH; six grandchildren James (Shelli) Lattimer, Carrie (Adam Guy) Lattimer, Kayli Lattimer, Chloe Lattimer, Kiah Weber, Eden Lattimer; several great-grandchildren; four brothers Ralph (Fairy) Ice, Roy (Cathleen) Ice, Jack Ice, Sonny (Diane) Ice; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by four brothers Earl, Wayne, Ross and Ray Ice and three sisters Ruth Burley, Lona Cline, and Ruby Hall.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton with Pastor Sue E. Chidley officiating. Burial will follow at FairfieldCemetery, West Lafayette.
Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.
