| July 31, 2025

Ralph Eugene Mizer, age 85, of West Lafayette, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025. He was born December 21, 1939 to the late Ralph and Audrey (Hothem) Mizer in Bakersville, Ohio.

Ralph, or Gene to his many friends, was a 1957 graduate of Fresno High School. On June 19, 1965, he married Judy Kay Mizer. They were married for nearly 60 years until her passing on June 7, 2025.

Ralph was a life member of the Fresno Presbyterian Church, the Ohio Farm Bureau and National Rifle Association. He had a playful personality teasing friends, family, and his beloved wife, Judy. Ralph enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, playing sports with his kids, participating in softball and golf leagues, and cheering on Ohio State athletic teams. His first love, however, was baseball, especially when it came to the Cleveland Indians. Ralph would turn another of his interests, automobiles, into his profession. Racing his beloved Corvettes in his youth, Ralph later served in the U.S. Army and received training as a tank mechanic. A long-time employee of Bluck & Sons, he was well regarded for his mechanical knowledge and skills in fixing farm equipment. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Ralph is survived by his children, Tammy (Jason) Antro, Elisa (Bob) May, Jennifer Mizer, and Scott (Alyson) Mizer; his son-in-law, Gary Mahoney; his grandchildren, Michaela Mahoney, Karina Mahoney, Gabrielle Antro, Spencer Antro, Alex May, Christopher May, Cora Mizer, and Claire Mizer; his step-grandsons, Eric (Charlene) May and Robert (Haley) May; his sisters, Catherine Miller and Cindy (Tom) Stockdale; his brothers, Vernon (Diane) Mizer and Tim (Sue) Mizer; and his sister-in-law, Linda Gibbs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy; his daughter, Brenda Mahoney; his sister, Jeanetta (Jim) Sheneman; and his brother-in-law, Russell “Butch” Gibbs.
