Vernon F. Bradford

bradfordCOSHOCTON – Vernon F. Bradford, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Vernon was born to the late William Cecil and Alma Azuela (Newell) Bradford in Monroe Township, Muskingum County on March 16, 1938. Vernon lived and worked most of his life in Plainfield, West Lafayette, and the Newcomerstown area. He attended school in Otsego.

Vernon was Methodist by faith. Vernon worked as a farm employee for six years for Francis Hinds of West Lafayette, then he worked 13 years for PBF Farms of West Lafayette, then eight years for Robert Derr and Sons of Plainfield, and he then retired from Kobel’s Nursery & Garden Center in West Lafayette after working there for 14 years. On July 7, 1979 Vernon married Carolyn Sue Lewis, who survives.  Vernon enjoyed outdoor work and activities, including gardening, lawn care, farm animals, and especially loved caring for his pets and his home.

Along with his wife, Vernon is survived by his children, Carol Ann (Dave) Roahrig of Newcomerstown, Gary Glenn (Sara) Bradford of Copley, Katherine Lynn (Jason) Brown of Stow, and Jason Andrew Bradford of Westerville, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by three sisters: Mrs. Harold (Laura) Cornelius, Mrs. Junior (Hazel) Hopkins, and Gladys Bradford; three brothers: Archie J. (Nellie) Bradford, William Lester (Mary) Bradford, and Lloyd (Rosella) Bradford; and one child, Michael Steven Bradford.

Funeral services will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral service at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
