Annual Remembrance Day National Roll Call event planned

NEWARK – For the second year in a row, The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) will join colleges and universities from across the nation in the Remembrance Day National Roll Call from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Martha Grace Reese Amphitheatre, on the co-located campuses of Ohio State Newark and COTC. The public is encouraged to participate in this free event.

Volunteers from both institutions will participate in a synchronized reading of the names of the fallen. They will be joined by schools in 36 states plus Washington, DC. A moment of silence will be held across all participating campuses at 2 p.m.

The Remembrance Day National Roll Call is sponsored nationally by the Veterans Knowledge Community of NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. NASPA is a 12,000-member association for the advancement, health and sustainability of the student affairs professionals. The Veterans Knowledge Community (VKC) mission is to advocate for best practices to help student veterans transition to college and succeed.

Members of the community are invited to attend and assist in the reading of names.
