COSHOCTON – Roscoe Village, Clary Gardens, the Coshocton Footlight Players and the Coshocton County Artist Collective are working together to create an evening out that showcases visual and performing artists in our community.

“I don’t think people realize how much talent we have in our community,” said Jandi Adams, executive director at Clay Gardens.

An Evening with the Arts will be held Saturday, May 19. Tickets are $30 and include three stops for the evening and dinner.

“Each of these events alone might not be enough to get someone to come out, but together they create a fun evening,” said Jill Baumgardner from the Footlight Players.

Start your night out at the Clary Gardens Compton House anytime between 3-7 p.m. to view an art exhibit by the Coshocton County Artist Collective. Travel to the Lock Landing in Roscoe Village’s visitors center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to take in an additional art display by the Coshocton County Artist Collective and enjoy a dinner buffet, which includes dinner, dessert and a glass of wine and is catered by the Warehouse Steak n’ Stein. Then wrap your evening up at 8 p.m. at the Triple Locks Theater with the Footlight Players production of “The Bridges of Madison County.”

Becky Prosek, office manager at the Warehouse is excited for the themed menu they are planning.

“They picnic in the movie so we are having a picnic themed dinner with our fried chicken plate and also will have sweet tea,” she said. “Everyone will be dressed for the theme too.”

The play is set in 1965 and Jill Baumgardner from the theater said the audience also is welcome to dress in the theme.

Shara Prindle from the Coshocton County Artist Collective added that there will be a nice variety of art to view at both venues.

“We have 15 artists in our group so far and pretty much everything they put on display will be available for sale,” Prindle said. “Most of the art goes with the theme of the play, but not all of it.”

To reserve your ticket, contact the Roscoe Village Visitors Center at 740-622-7644 ext 12 or 20. Reservations are limited.

“The evening will appeal to all of your senses,” said Lynda Daniel, marketing manager at Roscoe Village.

All those involved in organizing the event are hoping this is the first of many evenings with artists.

“We’ve partnered some in the past, but think this is the start of a great collaboration,” Adams said.
