Coshocton Elementary honors veterans

| November 11, 2014

Students and staff at Coshocton Elementary gathered in the gymnasium on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11 to honor veterans with special music from the Coshocton fourth grade class. They performed patriotic songs such as “God Bless the USA”, “The Armed Forces Medley”, and others. “Ultimately, the purpose was to honor those who served and died for our country,” said Aaron Mencer, choir director at Coshocton Elementary. “It’s an opportunity for children to have an exposure to what it means to be an American and why these services are so important.” The kids have been practicing for this special program for the past two months and gave an outstanding performance to be proud of. “We are grateful for their (veterans) service and I hope we can always remember what they’ve done for us and what they continue to do for us every day,” said Mencer. There is another Veterans Day service tonight at the Coshocton Elementary at 7 p.m.
