Coshocton Elementary PTO needs volunteers

| May 16, 2016

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is looking for officers for the school years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. They need a president, vice-president, secretary, and two treasurers. They are also looking for chair and co-chair persons for the following committees: book fair, fall fundraiser, spring fundraiser, box tops for education, secret Santa shop, Grandparents’ day, and teacher / staff appreciation.

The PTO’s mission is to promote the academic, physical, social, and personal well-being of Coshocton youth while developing a closer relationship between home, school, and community and to provide resources for the school in addition to those provided within the school budget, and to plan, organize, and execute events and programs which generate the resources and mechanisms necessary to fulfill these objectives.

In the past four years, PTO has provided students with books for the library and classrooms, backpacks, water bottles, school supplies, a new gate for the primary playground, and other playground equipment, grandparents’ breakfasts, bounce houses and other field day items, chili dinner, as well as staff lunches, baked goods, and small treats throughout the year. There is so much more they would like to accomplish, but need volunteers to do so.

They have three officers that will be leaving as their children will no longer be at the elementary school. In order to keep the PTO, they need the five officers mentioned above. They are asking parents, grandparents, teachers, and care givers to consider being a part of the PTO.

Interested persons should contact Seanda Ramsey, PTO president, at 740-502-6380.
