Coshocton SWCD coordinating aerial cover crop program

| September 8, 2014

COSHOCTON -Coshocton SWCD is once again coordinating an aerial cover crop program in cooperation with Fisher’s Ag Service tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Planes will be broadcasting rye and oat seed on corn and soybean fields signed up in the program.  No chemicals will be sprayed from these planes for this program: only grass seed.  Planes will be flying very close to the ground, likely alarming nearby onlookers.  Flying will take place during daylight hours only.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause nearby residents but hope our program goal of having grass cover on farm fields over the winter (reducing soil erosion and nutrient run-off) will offset this disturbance.

If you have anyone contacting your office regarding this program, please share this information with them or have them contact the Coshocton SWCD at 622-8087, ext. 4.
