Hartory to speak at Coshocton Public Library

| October 25, 2012

National speaker and author Patrick Hartory will appear at the Coshocton Public Library on Monday, Nov. 12, from 10:15 a.m. – noon to present a program based on his book, Your Ageless Mind. Hartory will make his presentation at the regular meeting of the Library’s Coffee Club, a 55+ group that meets monthly; however the Hartory presentation is open to all adults. The program will include information for slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, improving memory, the importance of “feeding your brain,” and more.

Hartory became interested in the power of the mind at an early age. As a young student being challenged by his weekly spelling test, Hartory was encouraged by his father to use memory systems to help improve his scores. From those early experiences, Hartory took with him a deep appreciation of how the mind works and was determined to learn more.  He would later take that interest to Kent State University where he earned a degree in both psychology and business administration.  Following college, he went to work developing educational programming for the PBS network, going on to produce and star in the long-running series “Weird Science.”

Patrick Hartory’s program is free and open to all adults.  Registration is preferred and reservations can be made by calling 622-0956.
