L. David “Dave ” Rich

 L. David “Dave” Rich, 70, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born Sept. 20, 1948 in Zanesville to the late Leslie Samuel and Freda (Wolford) Rich. He was a 1966 graduate of River View High School, and he served in the US Army 101st Airborne. After his discharge in May 1970, he went to work full time with his dad in the logging industry. This was his life’s great passion, working timber until Jan. 2018. Another great passion of Dave’s was auctions and antiquing.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Susan E. (Fenton) Rich of Warsaw, whom he married Dec. 18, 1981; five brothers, Leslie S. “Sam” Rich of Coshocton, Jim Rich of Frazeysburg, Don Rich of Byesville, Ken Rich, Sr. of Warsaw, and Raymond (Anna) Rich of Coshocton; three sisters, Alice Rich and Vicki Rich of Burtonsville, MD, and Nancy (Willie) McNemar of Dresden; three nephews, Shane (Mandy) Rich of Coshocton, Ken (Heidi) Rich, Jr. of Warsaw, and Greg (Katie) McNemar of Coshocton; five nieces, Shannon (Chris) Miller of Coshocton, Niki (Ron) Wine of Walhonding, Brittany (Scott) Lacy of Frazeysburg, Jennifer (Gabriel) Gonzalez of Montreal, Quebec, and Amy (Dustin) Dickerson of Walhonding; nine great-nephews; nine great-nieces; with one due in November and another special one due in 2019; many wonderful friends including two very special ones, Andrew A. “Drew” Yoder of Millersburg, and Randy D. Thomas of Warsaw; as well as numerous cousins and special cousins from the Priest family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bartley “Doke” Rich & Sara Isabelle (Wilson) Rich, Lloyd & Volora (Coulter) Wolford, and numerous aunts, uncles, & cousins.    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Kenny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard.
