Strawberry Hill Farm

Our young hens are laying up a storm, so we’ve stocked plenty of eggs at Local Bounty this week. Mary also brought a new supply of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, but fans of Erin’s oatmeal bread will have to wait till the end of the week. She’s on a trip to Indiana right now.

Flying Pig Farm

We’re taking some more chickens in so soon we’ll restock our cut up whole chicken packages just in time for grilling season! We raise flavorful heritage breeds that are pastured and supplemented with non-GMO grain.

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

We have lots of eggs at Local bounty this week, and we will be bringing in small pies and sourdough bread on Wednesday. Thanks for shopping at Local Bounty.

RUNNING MAN GHEE is produced by Gabe Rainwater, endurance athlete, stone mason, custom house builder, and chief cook & dishwasher for his wife Heather and their two young daughters.

The Rainwaters eat a diet based on nutrient-dense, locally grown, and traditional foods. One of the staples of their diet is ghee, or clarified butter—a casein and lactose-free, shelf-stable, high-heat cooking oil and ancient super food from India. They use it in place of cooking oil, slather it on sweet potatoes, toss it with steamed vegetables, and blend it into their morning coffee. Gabe makes his ghee in small batches and simmers it low and slow, which gives the ghee a buttery, nutty flavor with a hint of caramel. Ghee lowers inflammation, cholesterol, high blood pressure, and body fat while increasing vitamin intake, im-proving digestion, and building strong bones. It’s also great fuel for your brain.

The Rainwaters are longtime customers and supporters of Local Bounty. Look for them at local races—Gabe will be the one wearing the Local Bounty t-shirt!
