Local Bounty Update

| July 24, 2014

Good Morning,

It is another chilly summer day, we hope you stop by and see us, our hours today are 10-6!

Did you know?
Farm to Table Dinners are quite popular right now.  Ours will be truly unique to our area.  If you are looking for something different to do while enjoying the bounty of our beautiful county, don’t hesitate to get your tickets today, info below!

Farm to Table Dinner
As our September 6 celebration of local food, wine and culture approaches, ticket reservations continue to come in. And, it’s not too late to get yours so you can experience this grassroots dinner with us. This year we will host our Farm to Table Dinner at Carson House Farm, just north of Keene. Dinner will be served in the century old bank barn on the farm that is owned by Drs. Dave and Brenda Lozowski. Bob McKenna is our chef for the evening and he will transform simple, local ingredients into a gourmet meal. Tickets are $75 each (or $50 for Local Bounty members). This dinner is a fundraiser for our market – to help us continue doing what we do. To reserve your tickets or for more information, contact Kristi Adelsberger at kristi.adelsberger@gmail.com or 740-623-8914.

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm
We’ve added fresh Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and restocked your favorites. Try some on toasted bread from our Local Bounty bakers! We’ll also have fresh granola on Friday morning. Our granola is made with healthy local honey and is great for breakfast or a snack.

Hillbippie

Bippie Buns will be at LB today!  A mixed bag of plain, sesame and poppy seed are perfect for burgers or sandwiches.  Focaccia will be in today as well and check for Fiery Focaccia tomorrow.  Also back in stock your favorite bulk teas, Mint Condition and Reset Button.  Remember, both of these teas are wonderful iced and are extremely refreshing!
Keene Creek Farm
More fresh pork will arrive at LB soon. We are having a road trip Friday afternoon and hope to make it back before the market closes at 6. Just a quick push for our pizza dough mixes – they are heavenly on the grill. Mix up the dough, spread it out on a cookie sheet (or they do make actual grill pizza pans you can pick up at your favorite kitchen gadget store), top it with your favorite toppings, and grill away. You’ll have to watch them closely – but the payoff is worth it. Promise.

Millcreek Homestead
Hey Ohio State fans, you are going to love our new gift box sets!  Our ready-to-give, scarlet and gray gift box comes with a gray Ohio soap with a scarlet heart in the center.  A  soy candle (scarlet colored, of course) and a room and linen spray are included.  All are scented with a nostalgic “farmhouse cider” fragrance.  A perfect hostess gift or house warming present!  Our kitchen has been busy with canning projects this week, so look for the family size granolas to be back in stock on Friday morning.

Thank you for your continued support,
