Lorene Shrimplin
COSHOCTON- Mollie Lorene Shrimplin, 79, a resident of Windsorwood Place, died Monday June 3, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 29, 1933 in Boone, NC to the late Howard Homer and Pearl Inez (Cuddy) Brown. She married Gerald E. “Jerry” Shrimplin on March 30, 1956, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1991. She was a 1956 graduate of Fresno High School. She was a former employee of Kenyon College where she worked in food service, the former Cooper Energy Services in Mt. Vernon where she worked in the Entronics department, and the Ohio Developmental Center, where she worked in food service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette, a former member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church, and a former member of the Danville Card Club. She was a volunteer for Red Cross blood drives, Knox Community Hospital, and was a Pink Lady at Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital. She was also a former Girl Scout Troop Leader in Danville. Her interests included baking, sewing, baseball, and basketball. Go Buckeyes!
She is survived by a daughter, Jacque (Scott) Black of Greenville, SC, a son, Jeff (Gina Garry) Shrimplin of Mt. Vernon, three granddaughters; Marissa & Cecily Black of Greenville, SC and Makenna Shrimplin of Mt. Vernon, two grandsons; Bryce Black of Greenville, SC, and Nicholas Garry of Mt. Vernon, three sisters; Jean Miller of Coshocton, Kathy Price, & Patty Boyd, both of Lockbourne, three brothers; Bill (Betty) Brown & Bryan (Brenda)Brown of West Lafayette, and Jack (Marie)Brown of Pomfret, MD, a sister-in-law, Linda Brown of West Lafayette, a brother-in-law, Bob Kobel of Coshocton, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mozelle Kobel, and a brother, James “Buck” Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 10, 2013 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Dave Kraft officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
