Church Outdoor Program05COSHOCTON – Claire Killiany is pictured working with Ryan Kuhns during Pleasant Hill Baptist Church’s Experiencing God’s Great Outdoors program, which was held Thursday through Sunday, July 27-30. Children ages 9-15 were invited to come learn a variety of outdoor lessons including the ones taught on July 28 that focused on shooting sports and were presented at the Woodbury Shooting Range. Several volunteers like Kuhns who have an interest in the outdoors helped teach participants. Kuhns belongs to a different church, but when he heard about the program he knew he wanted to help. Jon Ianniello, who runs the Farmers Insurance Agency on South Third Street, took time away from his office to bring his two daughters to the program and also let one of his employees take time away to volunteer. “I thought this was something really neat for kids to do and a great way for them to experience the outdoors,” Ianniello said. “This is something we are passionate about and thought it was a great idea for us to help if we could.”

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
