Ridgewood Board of Education has first meeting of year

WEST LAFAYETTE – The Ridgewood Local School District Board of Education met Friday, Jan. 6, to begin the New Year with the Budget Hearing, Organizational Meeting and Regular Meeting. The meetings began with the Pledge of Allegiance. All members were present. A Tax Budget Hearing for Fiscal 2018 commencing July 1, 2017 was approved to be submitted for consideration to the County Budget Committee.

The Budget Hearing was followed with the Organizational Meeting. Officers and Committee assignments for the 2017 calendar year were held with the following offices and committees:

Board President:  Marty Feldner; Vice President:  Cathy McCrea;

Resolution #17-02 Establishing Time and Place of Board Meetings. All meetings will be held at the Administration Building at 301 S. Oak Street, West Lafayette, Ohio 43845. A Finance Committee Meeting takes place 15 minutes prior to the Regular Board Meeting.

Commendations:

Recognized Board of Educations members with Certificates of Appreciation during Board of Education Appreciation Month.

Recognized Ridgewood Local School District Treasurer Jay Tingle for the Ohio Auditor of State Award

Approved the Treasurer’s Report: Finance report, Payment of Bills, and Transfer of Funds to the Schoolwide Pool Fund.

Approved the Superintendent’s Report:

Classified employment of Jo Mizer as bus driver retro to December 5, 2016.

Updates on Legislative items.

Old Business:  Discussion on Bus Garage

Updated on the High School Media Center with discussion on upcoming renovations.
