River View boys’ swimmers win invite

CIRCLEVILLE – The River View boys Varsity swim team finished in first place ahead of Chillicothe and Columbus Bexley, and the girls placed second behind Chillicothe, at the Teas Valley Invitational held at the Pickaway County YMCA.

Winning events for the boys’ team were Reas Pepper in the 50 (24.59) and 100 Free (55.11), the 200 Free Relay (1:39.84) of JT Roberts, Brayden Karr, Lincoln Shroyer, and Pepper, and the 400 Free Relay (3:47.23) of Luke Massie, Brady Philabaum, Cole Tatro, and Pepper.

Event winners for the girls include Berta Vidal in the 200 IM (2:20.13) and the 100 Fly (1:02.60), Lindsey Ashcraft in the 100 Breast (1:19.99), and the 200 Medley Relay (2:08.40) of Vidal, Aliya Stevens, Ashcraft, and Raychel Smalley. The Bears will host their final home meet of the season on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.
