River View shuts down Licking Valley

WARSAW – Alyssa Thomas didn’t allow a single run and hit a two run homer against Licking Valley, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the River View Lady Bears to a 14-0 victory on April 10.

River View got things moving in the first inning, when they scored on a stolen base during Thomas’ at bat. Then Thomas singled.

The Lady Bears put up five runs in the fifth inning with their offense being led by Claire Warschauer, Lauren Krystek, and Thomas, all driving in runs in the frame.

Thomas was credited with the victory for River View. She lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.

River View saw the ball well, racking up 14 hits in the game. Bella Heddleson, Thomas, Mikensi Ehlinger, Krystek, and Warschauer each collected multiple hits for River View. Thomas and Heddleson all had three hits to lead River View. Krystek led River View with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. River View also didn’t commit a single error. Thomas made the most plays with four.
