Shirley Pearl Foster

Shirley Pearl Foster, 63 of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 22, 1957, in Coshocton, Ohio, to the late Harry Ray and Elma (Darr) Carnes.

She graduated from River View School in 1975 and worked at Burger Chef, Turner Hardware, then worked as a STNA at Autumn Health Care, Oak Pointe of Baltic, Ohio and Lafayette Pointe for many years until becoming disabled.

Shirley enjoyed baking and gardening in her flower bed. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, her family and her dogs.

On Sept. 22, 1978, Shirley married David Alan Foster who survives. Together they had two boys, Brian Keith Foster of Noble County and Travis Lee Foster of Manassas, Virginia and stepson, Scott Alan Foster of West Lafayette; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Harold Eugene (Charlotte) Carnes of Coshocton, Robert Lee Carnes of Kentucky, and Jeff Lynn (Linda) Carnes of Coshocton, two sisters Linda Rae Nichols and Anna Marie (Dwight) Jenkins both of Coshocton; and special friends including,  Lynn Wilson of Frazeysburg, Steve Timberlake of Kentucky, Robert Worthington of West Lafayette and Hattie Gipe of West Lafayette.

Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her sister Marsha Jean Ruby, brother Clifford Earl Carnes and brother-in-law, Martin Nichols and several aunts, uncles and nieces.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Fairfield Cemetery with Reverend Ric Bonice officiating. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral home is serving the family.
