Three charged with drug possession and trafficking

COSHOCTON – On Aug. 4, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on Bridge Street in the city of Coshocton. As a result of the traffic stop, drugs and money were seized. A male and a female suspect were taken into custody. Detectives then executed a search warrant in the 500 block of South 3rd Street. As a result of the search warrant, a firearm, drugs, money and drug paraphernalia were seized. Two male suspects were taken into custody.

Assisting the Detective Division was the Coshocton County Special Response Team, the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office, the Coshocton County Dog Warden’s Officers, and the Holmes County LEAD Drug Task Force. Formal charges are pending after further review of the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Aug. 7, the Sheriff’s Office filed formal charges on Jerrie L. Rastorfer of Coshocton for Possession of Drugs, a fifth degree felony. Charges were also filed on Bryan L. Mizer of Coshocton for Trafficking in Heroin, a fifth degree felony. Both of these charges were connected to the traffic stop made on Bridge Street. Charges were also filed as a result of the search warrant on Daniel L. Gross of Coshocton for Having Weapons Under Disability, a third degree felony.

Additional charges may be forthcoming as these cases will be presented to the Coshocton County Grand Jury during an upcoming session. This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
