COSHOCTON – Good morning Local Bounty Shoppers: Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mother-figures in our community. We hope your weekend includes spending time with family and of course, stopping into Local Bounty.

Here are some updates from your LB vendors:

Keene Creek Farm

We’ll have more salad greens available this week. The arugula petered out mid-week, so we’re done with that for now. Our crop of romaine is growing so well – we hope to have some at LB in the next week or so. Our second crop of spinach that is planted outside should be ready in the next week or so too. Don’t forget about our pizza dough mixes (which are also superb on the grill) and artisan rosemary bread mix. They both whip up quickly with just water and olive oil. Pork products are restocked to the best of our ability. We are out of a few things, but have two hogs going to the processor this weekend. So, we’ll be able to restock our little piggies and brats soon. We’re also adding a cajun brat to our product line and seasoned breakfast sausage without MSG.

Mill Creek Homestead

We are back from vacation and are working on getting our shelves restocked. Maple pecan and cranberry almond granola will be in today. Lemongrass whipped shea butter is back this week, too. Be sure to check out my new lavender soap which would be perfect for Mother’s day. Pair it with some lavender whipped shea butter, bath salts and room and linen spray for an extra special treat! (The rest of that gift would need to be Dad taking the kids for an hour so Mom can lock herself in the bathroom!)

Simple Gourmet Syrups

Michael Jaeb from the Millersburg area has joined Local Bounty as a new vendor. He brings a complete line of syrup, jam and glaze products to the store. One of his most unique and best-selling products is shagbark hickory syrup. Be sure to check out his stocked shelf while you’re in the market this weekend.

Strawberry Hill Farm

We’ll be bringing more rhubarb this week, fresh eggs, and possibly some green onions. We’re hoping for some good rain, since it’s getting pretty dry out in the gardens!

Windy Hill Berry Farm & Vineyard

With the days getting longer and warmer, we’ve decided to build an automatic watering system for the chickens, recycling a barrel from Pearl Valley Cheese–thanks! This week we will have spinach, rhubarb, blueberry-banana bread, pineapple zucchini bread, brown eggs, and blackberry jam, among many other flavors. Have you seen our artisan cutting boards made of cherry, walnut, red & white oak and hard maple? They make great Mother’s Day Gifts and are so well crafted, they become a family heirloom to be passed down.

Kids Cooking Classes

As of this morning there were still six seats left in the series of kids cooking classes we’re offering this summer (in conjunction with the local OSU Extension Office). If you’d like more information, reply to this e-mail or call Marissa Mullett at 740-623-8023.

As always, many thanks for your support of our market.
