Presbyterian Church hosts Lenten Lunches

| February 11, 2015

DSCN0516COSHOCTON – The Lenten Luncheons have been held each Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the Presbyterian Church during the Lent season in Coshocton County for 46 years. The luncheons are an ecumenical gathering of people of all ages from the churches in Coshocton County. Lunch consists of soup, pie, vegetables, and cheese and there is a time of worship and receiving a message by one of the pastors in the county. An offering of $4 per person helps to cover some of the cost and the remainder is given to the Church Women United for its children’s clothing project. The soup and pies are made by area churches and is coordinated by Sue Carlisle. The theme this year is “Called to…” The luncheons begin on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18 with Rev. Bill Buckeye from West Lafayette United Methodist Church will be the speaker, and Casey Claxton will be the presenter. The title for the day will be “Called to Love One Another”.
